The SYTC Board of Directors voted late Monday, in accordance with the Massachusetts Reopening Plan released by Governor Baker, to open the club on Monday May 25. We’re thankful that the Governor’s Re-opening Advisory Board reached a realistic, sensible decision about athletics that take place in an unconfined outdoor environment where social distancing is inherently achievable, facilities can be quickly disinfected and COVID-proofed, and the health and safety of players and the public at large can be aggressively protected.
A few important reminders when we open:-Please review the club’s “COVID19 Guidance” posted on the SYTC website www.southyarmouthtennisclub.com. The Guidance describes requirements and recommendations for all players at SYTC during the COVID19 pandemic. Please – Know The Rules!
-All players are required to sign SYTC’s revised Waiver of Liability prior to their first time playing.
-Follow the club’s streamlined approach: Arrive – Play – Enjoy – Depart. Please don’t congregate or linger on SYTC property.
-Mask In – Mask Out. Face coverings are required until you reach your assigned court, and again when departing the court after play is completed.
-Respect the health and safety of all players and staff, just as they are respecting yours.
-Advance court reservations are essential so that we can plan the most COVID-safe court assignments possible.
We are hopeful there will be an opportunity to relax the carefully controlled COVID19 tennis environment over the course of the summer and restore some of the social elements so important to SYTC’s culture, but for now – enjoy the active tennis lifestyle we all crave and PLAY THE CLAY!
