Under the direction of their Head Coach Rich Shannon, The Sturgis West Varsity girls tennis team visited SYTC for a vigorous practice Wednesday May 30. With one more regular season match left before they begin play in the league playoffs, the 15-2 varsity is poised for a top seed and a possible championship. Head coach Shannon - who also serves as Head Pro at SYTC - put the team through a series of intense drills, shouting encouragement and pointers at every player throughout the afternoon. Good Luck, Sturgis West!

Show them some SYTC hospitality as they learn what it's all about to... PLAY THE CLAY!
SYTC welcomed D-Y Girls Tennis Coach Jessica Francis and her energetic Varsity Team yesterday to a special clay court practice at SYTC. Fifteen players filled four courts with spirited singles and doubles drills and play as they prepared for the final crucial matches of their regular season next week. It was the first experience on clay for some of the players, but they adapted easily and enjoyed the more body-friendly experience (even at their age!). The novelty of sweeping the courts and lines created a lot of laughter and they left the club in pristine shape with a big Thank You for hosting them!
This Friday, May 18th from 2:30 – 4:30 PM come out and cheer on this talented group of young players and give them a BIG SYTC welcome in their first ever clay court practice session. Coach Jessica Francis (left) will put them through the paces on five courts.
All six courts are now lined, netted, rolled, swept and ready for the 2018 season play. A special thanks to the more than twenty volunteers who made the difference on Saturday!
