Thank You Harry Cohen And Lindsay Macdonald!

Many thanks go out to Head Pro, Harry Cohen and Assistant Pro, Lindsay McDonald from the entire SYTC Board of Directors, staff and members for a spectacularly successful instructional program this year. Juniors and high school program players enjoyed lively drills, games and fun on the court all summer long, with heartfelt thanks coming to Harry and Lindsay from many parents. Members improved their tennis with private lessons and enjoyed the new program of men’s and women’s doubles clinics.

Best of luck to you Harry and Lindsay as you continue your college tennis and academic careers!

SYTC Women's Interclub Team Has Undefeated Season

The SYTC women’s Interclub team had an outstanding season this year with a total of 7 matches. The team won 5 matches and tied 2 matches, resulting in an undefeated season. There were a total of 23 members who came out and played, including 7 New members and 6 second year Members who didnt have an opportunity to play last year due to the program being on hold because of the pandemic.
Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun of playing against and meeting members of some of the other clubs in the area as well as enjoying the camaraderie with their own teammates. Thank you very much to all of those who participated and contributed not only their tennis skills but some wonderful food to share with our opponents. Special thanks to Team Captain Veronica Gutow.

Woods & Whites Classic At South Yarmouth Tennis

Truly a “blast from the past” at SYTC on Saturday, August 14th! Wood racquets and tennis whites ruled our courts for a competitive, amusing, and very entertaining Round Robin. 16 players met the challenge well of wood racquet play and had a great time on our courts. Afterwards, their efforts were rewarded with a terrific evening cookout with all the trimmings. SYTC provided the burgers, dogs, and sausages cooked to perfection by our very own Grill Master Al Hero. Players, members, and guests provided an amazing array of delicious appetizers, salads, side dishes, and desserts. Our group of 25+ dinners shared a late afternoon/evening of fun tennis, entertainment, a tasty dinner, lots of laughs, and lively conversation. A great time was had by all!

And the Winners Are...

Though it was a hot and humid morning on the courts, all courts were full for the Ladies Member-Guest Tournament & Luncheon on Saturday, August 7th. Great competition and fun tennis was had by all as we played our way to the final 2 teams. Deb Norton (Left) and her partner Maureen Shaffer (2nd from left) defeated Susan Campbell (Right) with her sister Linda as her partner, to be 2021 SYTC Member-Guest Campions! Congratulations to our 4 finalists! After tennis, we all enjoyed a well earned, delicious luncheon under the shade of the club awning. Great tennis, wonderful food, and lots of laughs made for a perfect Saturday morning on Cape Cod!
