Rescheduled twice for rain, the third time was the charm for the first-ever SYTC Color Wars ladies’ event which finally took place on Sunday August 27th. Six teams of four players each competed in an intricate round robin format devised by club manager Steve Francis. Players dressed in their team colors, and sported visors in their team colors as well, for a festive display of SYTC club spirit. In the end, the green team of Ellen Coffey, Kathy Glannon, Maureen McAdams, and Carol Rawlins amassed the most points and brought home the win.
Tennis was followed by a sumptuous potluck luncheon of main dishes, salads, and desserts on the club patio – a delicious end to a morning filled with laughter and excitement on the courts. For those who were unable to participate this year, we hope to run this very successful event again sometime in the future.
